Native American Poetry from the Blue Cloud Abbey

Whiting Books has recently listed a number of issues of the Blue Cloud Quarterly, an out-of-print, important journal of Native American poetry. These issues are from the 1980s:

The Blue Cloud Abbey, near Marvin, South Dakota, recently closed (5 August 2012). At their Web site, this notice is now posted:

The monastery was founded by monks from Saint Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana in 1950. Benedictine monks were involved in ministry on several nearby Indian reservations, an association that gave rise to the publication of a quarterly journal devoted to the literature of Native Americans. The abbey also had an historical collection of glass plate negatives featuring Native Americans from the late 1800s to early 1900s, which can be seen on the U.S. Geological Survey site.
